San Francisco 49ers sink New Orleans Saints in playoff

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The San Francisco 49ers won a thrilling divisional playoff over the New Orleans Saints 36-32 on Saturday to reach the NFC Conference championship for the first time since the 1997 season.
In a dramatic finale, with four lead changes in the final four minutes, the 49ers emerged victorious thanks to a 14 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Alex Smith to Vernon Davis.
Tight-end Davis ended the game with 180 yards receiving and two touchdowns while Smith put up 299 yards and threw three touchdowns.
The Saints, Super Bowl champions two seasons ago, came back from a 17-0 deficit and five turnovers to lead on two separate occasion in the last four minutes.
